The project aims at developing pupils’ emotional intelligence. Emotional awareness activities will lead the way towards self-regulation, empathy and goal achievement. Students become SWOT scouts who explore their inner self (Strengths, Weaknesses), and their external circumstances, learning to identify them as Opportunities to progression or Threats to avoid. Eventually, they will find the hidden treasure: themselves, but a stronger, wiser self because they know themselves better and have shared experiences and emotions with teenagers of different backgrounds. This will make them improve personally, socially and academically. They will also become culturally richer, more open-minded and more hopeful about the future.
AIMS
1.To develop students’ key competences: digital, ICT, learning to learn, initiative and entrepreneurship, social & civic competence and cultural expression. 2. To improve the competence in linguistic communication in English. 3. To design and put into practice a sequence of activities related to self-awareness, emotion management, self-esteem, empathy, assertiveness and achievement motivation. 4. To help students develop self control in social situations and discover motivational goals towards the overcoming of difficulties or self-imposed limitations. 5.To enrich participants’ personal experience through the exchange of ideas, emotions, collaborative work and experiences with foreign students. 6.- To share the different transnational teams’ SWOT exploration experiences, comparing and reflecting on the results as a way of cultural enrichment in the context of a Europe united in diversity.
RESULTS and products
Final product 1: eBook to be disseminated among the educational communities and the families of the participant schools. It will tell the story of the Project and collect all the evidences created as well as the evaluation by all the actors involved. Final product 2: Interactive computer game called “SWOT Scouts” resembling a Treasure Hunt. By clicking on the objects in the board or panel, the different activities will be displayed, unscrolled or accessed through a link to the documents or applications. Contents to be accessed when clicking: Final product 3: Didactic guides for teachers who want to use the activities to work on emotional intelligence + all the materials necessary to do the activities: worksheets, images, videos, links to questionnaires, to apps, etc.
